Written by Christy Porta on behalf of Rooms by ZoyaB
The ZoyaB Blog is back! Before I start blogging, I wanted to take some time to introduce myself. My name is Christy Porta and I am the most recent addition to the Rooms by ZoyaB family. As some of you may know, we are located in the New York Design Center in Manhattan. However, I am not a New York native. I have actually come here all the way from Louisiana.
Living in the South my entire life, I have found New York to be somewhat of a culture shock. Everything is so fast paced in the city, whether it is at your job or simply trying to take a stroll through the city. You must always have a little “pep in your step” or else you will get lost in the shuffle. Because of this fast-paced lifestyle, I am grateful to say that I have learned so much in such a short amount of time here.
Working for Rooms by ZoyaB has been a real blessing for me. After receiving my Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design in May, I had no idea what my future held. Starting my career in New York has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember; and when Zoya called me in early June, I knew that this was my chance to follow my dream.
Having Zoya as my boss and mentor has been a great gift so far. She is a very talented and smart designer, which has led to her great success. Her attention to detail is what makes her the best in business. By working under her, I have learned so many skills that I could not have learned elsewhere and I am so grateful for this opportunity.
At Rooms by ZoyaB, we are able to help clients achieve rooms that one can only dream of for a child. It is so rewarding to work on a project and get to see the final outcome and the smile on the child’s face when they finally see their new room. All it takes is a smile to keep you motivated to always do your best. Here at Rooms by ZoyaB, we are happy to say that customers are always smiling.
Stay tuned for my next blog to hear about our trip on a job in Florida. Here’s a sneak peek :)
